In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, thousands of orphaned children were sent west on trains to be adopted by families in need of farm labor. These children were known as "orphan train riders," and their stories are often heartbreaking and harrowing.

Orphan Train Rider is the true story of one such child, Leo Edward Rose. Leo was born in New York City in 1891, but his parents died when he was just a toddler. He was sent to an orphanage, where he was abused and neglected.

At the age of 11, Leo was put on an orphan train and sent to Nebraska. He was adopted by a family of farmers, but they were cruel and exploitative. Leo was forced to work long hours in the fields, and he was often beaten and starved.

Leo eventually ran away from his adoptive family and made his way to Chicago. There, he lived on the streets and begged for food. He was befriended by a kind-hearted woman who took him in and helped him find a job.

Leo eventually went on to become a successful businessman and a loving father. He never forgot the horrors he had endured as an orphan train rider, and he dedicated his life to helping other orphaned children.

Orphan Train Rider is a powerful and moving story of survival, resilience, and hope. It is a must-read for anyone interested in American history, social welfare, or the human spirit.
