In 1991, John Allen and a team of scientists embarked on a bold experiment to create a self-sustaining environment in the Arizona desert. Biosphere 2 was the world's largest closed ecological system, and its inhabitants spent two years living and working inside its sealed glass dome.

In this fascinating and inspiring memoir, Allen tells the story of Biosphere 2, from its conception to its completion. He shares the challenges and triumphs of creating a self-sustaining environment, and the lessons learned along the way.

Allen's writing is clear and engaging, and he has a knack for explaining complex scientific concepts in a way that is easy to understand. He also has a wonderful sense of humor, and his memoir is filled with laugh-out-loud moments.
